- Under the three year review and revision functions of the Model Code Program, the 2005 NEC, with New York City amendments, was adopted in 2006. In 2008, the electrical code revision committees will begin reviewing the 2008 NEC to draft new local amendments, thus ensuring that New York City remains on the cutting edge of technology and electrical engineering.
- New York City will begin the review process of the 2008 NEC on January 1, 2008.
