The Alabama Chapter of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI) will be holding its 65th annual educational conference at Guntersville State Park Lodge, March 8-10. Earn 14 Hours of Continuing Education. Our Continuing education has been approved by: the Alabama Electrical Contractors Board, IAEI and ICC for Inspector certification and the Alabama State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Land Surveyors. This invitation is extended to you and all other members of the electrical industry (inspectors, contractors, engineers, electricians, suppliers, utility companies, etc).

A panel of nationally recognized NEC professionals will be making presentations, discussing code requirements and offering code interpretations on many issues encountered in the electrical field. Continuing Education Unit certificates (CEU's) will be awarded to those who qualify.

IAEI membership is not required to attend this seminar & space is limited to the first 150 registered.

Several members of the IAEI Alabama Chapter enjoyed the trip to Addison (Dallas) Texas for the Texas Chapter sponsored, IAEI Southern Section Educational Conference. The hotel was great, the moderators wonderful, the code panelists were brilliant and we all learned allot. We appreciate all the hard work of the Texas Chapter. Thank you to all the sponsors and vendors and exhibitors. Included in the associated images here, are of one of several committee meetings, the opening board meeting, the educational conference room and the banquet.

IAEI Alabama Chapter and Jeff Sargent of NFPA blasted the state with meetings starting on Saturday the 13th 2014 in Opelika. The following week had Jeff and Chapter members in Mobile, Montgomery, Tuscaloosa, Birmingham and Anniston. On the 13th, Jeff gave an 8 hour presentation on the 2014 NEC Analysis of Changes. The rest of the week, Jeff gave a 2 hour presentation on Emergency Systems. Thanks so much to Donny Cook of Shelby County; without his diligent work to set up each of these meetings, the Alabama Chapter would not have done it. Also, Jeff Sargent of NFPA; we thank you so much for taking the time!

Do you live in East Alabama or West Georgia and need some continuing education hours (CEU’s) for your Alabama or Georgia Electrical Contractors License? Maybe you need CEU’s for your ICC inspector certifications. Or maybe you are an engineer or architect.

Jeff Sargent with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) is scheduled to instruct several International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI) educational programs in Alabama in September. As you know the NFPA writes and publishes the National Electrical Code (NEC). Jeff has served as an editor for the NEC Handbook so he can speak to its contents with authority.

Jeff will be presenting an 8 hour IAEI 2014 NEC Analysis of Changes program in Opelika on Saturday, September 13, 2014.

The registration includes 8 hours of CEU’s, a copy of the 2014 Analysis of Changes book, a copy of the UL White Book, lunch and breaks. IAEI CEU’s are accepted by state electrical contractor’s boards, engineer boards, ICC certifications and many other entities.

Download the attachment, print it, fill it out and send it in ASAP. Seating is limited. You can also go on line at:

Please pass on to folks in East Alabama and West Georgia and post in locations around that area.
